Carson Rifle and Pistol Club Rifle Match
The Carson Rifle and Pistol Club will hold two rifle matches Saturday, July 6th at the Carson Rifle and Pistol Range. The first match will be a Mini-Palma, followed by a Vintage Military Rifle match.
The Mini-Palma is a 100 yard .22 rimfire rifle match. The course of fire is 45 shots in three stages, from either prone position or bench, slow fire. Suitable for most 22 rifles, either iron-sighted or scoped. Click here for a full description of this event.

The Vintage Rifle match is a 100 yard rifle match. The course of fire is 50 shots in four stages, from standing, sitting/kneeling and prone positions, in slow and rapid fire. This match is for military rifles in service prior to the AR15. Click here for a full description of this event.
The Club has a number of M1 Garand rifles that are available free for use in this match (club ammunition is required to be used in these guns to protect them from overpressure created by modern ammunition.) For the cost of the ammo ($24), a shooter may draw an M1 from our supply and re-create the experience that was National Match competitive shooting from the fifties thru the eighties at places such as Camp Perry, home of the National Championships.
Match fees are $10 for one event, $15 for both. Sixty rounds of ammunition for the club M1 Garands will cost $24, including the en-bloc clips.
Targets and target stands are provided by the Club and are included in the match fees. Participants should bring sunscreen, snacks and water. Bathrooms are available at the range.
The first match will start at 8AM. Range check in will start at 7AM at the gate and all shooters must be on the firing line by 8AM. Each person admitted to the range must complete the city required liability waiver form and be a member of the Carson Rifle and Pistol Club. Club membership is $20 per year and applications will be accepted prior to the match. More information on membership can be found here: Click here for membership information.
